I think that there are too many fund raising programmes on TV! The ads are bad enough, but at least they only last a few mins.
There will always be some piece of film that touches your heart, so you will feel pressured to donate. For those, who choose not to watch, you will struggle to find good programmes on other channels... so it is easier to just watch the horrors that happen in the world.
It is sad but that is what happens now, because the TV channel gets good viewing figures. I would prefer to watch a series of events, filmed in the same place to show the beginning, how it progressed & how much better the peoples lives are now..... along with the cost of the work involved. That way we would know that the money we gave did a worthwhile job!
