Re: What makes a man break ?

Since this have occur fairly recently, some time it is best to wait to hear the rest of the story that the investigators will find the reason. May be one or the other was have a extra-marital partner? May be he just crack under tremendous stress if he was refuse a mortgage, perhaps it is financial problems..... we may not ever know - but - it all come down to the human condition. It will be interest to follow this story... : ]

Re: What makes a man break ?

I am pretty sure there is more to this story then we know. We all go through financial crisis at one time or another, we fix them in how best we think and move on. His life is no different then any others' going to work every day and trying to making ends meet. Some end up buying a house some don't, no big deal. He was a banker, maybe he wanted more then he could have ? Did he have life insurance on his wife ?

Why did he snap ? who knows what goes on in someone's mind.

Re: What makes a man break ?

I notice in the first linked article it says ...

The IT consultant and former adviser to the Bank of England had sustained serious self-inflicted injuries 24 hours after the discovery of the body of his wife.

We'll probably never know 'why'. Some people just flip.
When I was at primary school one of the most popular teachers got attacked by her husband who went beserk with an axe.. and after he left her bleeding at home he drowned himself in the local meir.
She survived. A lovely woman. Very mild mannered and well liked. Previous to that he had been rated a decent, well balanced chap.
