I was thinking the same, hence the crop - it 'should' mean more than a badge line up and in my case - it does.
So I certainly wouldn't knock it, its a good idea if used right

Its only pointless if you don't use it for the right reasons, having said that, I care about people that are not on the friends list and communicate by pm with them

I use it because it's there, but I believe (hopefully) I have more friends on the forum than listed in my friends list, I know who they are don't need a reminder.
