Re: Tommy Cooper

Didn't watch it, the trailer was an inclination not to bother.
The best of these was the Morecambe and Wise one, the actors were spot on and no dirt to dish up. Really good entertainment.

Re: Tommy Cooper

I quite enjoyed it, he was a funny man and it showed a very normal, human side to him. Celebrities will always be targeted once they've died, it makes for better viewing, that is, if they don't know something they can make it up!!

I liked his silly style of comedy and I don't think the programme was too irreverent but then I'm not his daughter.

It's nothing new, the fact that he was a womaniser was revealed in a biography of his life some years ago,

Re: Tommy Cooper

I have to say that I never found this idiot even mildly amusing. It always amazes me the number of comedians who claim that he was their 'inspiration' for going into comedy, unless of course it was a case of 'if this fool can get paid for what he does then anyone could'. Actually, I found him embarrassing to watch and have always changed channel whenever he appeared. Mind you I have never been a fan of slap stick or in your face stupidity labelled as so called comedy, hence not really a fan of Morecombe and Wise either.

Now I could never stand watching Harry Worth, I just didn't like his humour. Good job we're not all the same isn't it!

I too don't like slapstick comedy. While having lunch and before coming to the allotment, On The Buses was on telly (I am so missing Doctors!). There was a particular stupid scene, very noisy, and I couldn't switch off quick enough.
