Belated Greetings from me too Rene and I hope you've had a good Christmas so far.
I'm profoundly deaf; so much so that if I take out my Hearing Aids I can't hear anything so I lip read and I'm getting better at that now, for obvious reasons.
You may find that better but people have to be told that you are deaf and to keeping looking at you as they speak!
It's really amazing how hard that seems to be for many.
You also naturally start to "read" body language and posture signals - probably you already do but maybe don't realise it yet.
In all my past recollections of working alongside US citizens, I found them the easiest to understand as you all tend to speak very clearly and distinctly..
I don't mean to denigrate my countrymen and women but you've heard of the British Stiff Upper Lip?
Yep, it can be
very stiff and therefore hard to lip read!
