Re: Naming offspring?

Lol @ Jem's post!!

Regarding the original post I think it's quite clever, the Johnathan thing. I also get angry when a perfectly good name is spoiled by a silly spelling. I think Chevonne is meant to be Siobhan, lovely so why ruin it?

Re: Naming offspring?

I imagine anyone called Siobhan would go through life constantly having to spell their name out loud to officials and so on, it must be a real pain. Having said that, Chevonne has the same problem - sounds like a make of car to me.

It's black women's names I think are hilarious, specially American ones. And American boys who are all called the same as their fathers except with Junior added - how unoriginal is that?

As my daughter put it.....
"I'm Kirsty to my friends and family, Kirstin to my colleagues and Doctor to my students."

With a grand daughter named Daytona I can't really comment!
In S. Africa I knew a Fortunate, September, January and Jacket!

Re: Naming offspring?

Sheila named my two boys and I just went along with it. When we had our daughter I took it upon myself to name her Alison - after the actress June Alyson who I fell in love with in my teens.
