I understand that if we really leave Europe all our nuclear weapons will explode, which will annoy the Scots, and cause a lot of damage, noise and pollution around Helensburgh. This is eventuality is not going down well with the local tourist board or salmon fishers.Re: Scary misleading reporting
You certainly have to take a lot of what you read in the tabloids with a pinch of salt. And if you do find yourself reading something that doesn't quite add up, is clearly one-sided or overly anti this or that ... read it again, ask yourself what message the author is trying to put across, ask yourself what information seems to be missing, what detail is hidden in the fluff of the final paragraph. Then google aspects of the story and you will find further snippets of information helping you to piece together another story or indeed another version of the one you just read. The difference between the sensationalised version and the down-to-earth version may be nothing more than political leanings, but sometimes - and this is worrying - the sensation is designed to instill hatred and disgust in the reader. There's a saying in the newspaper industry: "give the punter what he wants". Therefore, the sort of person who buys a certain type of journal hungers for his fix of hatred and disgust.Re: Scary misleading reporting
