You are not alone Swimmy! Many of us paid a lower NI rate because we paid into pension funds, but we still got the tax relief on what we contributed.
Full state pensions are paid to those who couldn't, or didn't, contribute to works or private pensions...... but they are hardly a fortune.
Nobody wants to reduce their standard of living, but it will happen to
all when we leave the EU, that is why so many remainers wanted to remain. Those who wanted to leave probably never wanted to be in the EU , in the first place, but were prepared to suffer the reduction in spare cash because they wanted to retain sovereignty.
You claim to have socialist beliefs yet regularly boast about your income! Just remember that the tax you pay on your private pension will rise, if those surviving on a state pension are unable to keep warm and fed, so that will further reduce your income..... and you will also lose your "rent a room" income from your polish friends, if they are no longer allowed to run businesses here.
Most of us are leaving for the country's benefit, not our own
