That's not really a bad price to pay, if you love your pets then you pay it. We have Cat Insurance for Coco.

Hope everything goes well next Wednesday. Susie x

The surgery itself is between $125 and $150. Anesthesia is $95.... Then to determine if it's cancer, the biopsy if $90, unless the vet can visually identify it.. like a cyst or a lipoma. Grand total.. Somewhere around $400 to $450. Or for you... in the general vicinity of 250 pounds.

Some people don't want to bother with having the tumor biopsied.. they say.. if it's cancer.. then what? You are not going to give a cat chemo.. so why spend the money. I think I want to know.. would you?
I would always do the best for my pet, my girl needed 2 ops for cancer and lived a long and happy life afterwards then my boy Jake went off his food, took him to the vets and they needed to scan him, they'd just taken delivery of their first state of the art scanner and didn't charge me as he was the first to use it.
I assumed everything went well but got a terrible shock at the result, he had cancer and only had a couple of months to live!
I'd had them both for 20 years and they were a happy pair, when he passed away she went downhill fast and sadly passed away too. It was such a double whammy, a terrible shock and I grieved for a long time afterwards, they left such a huge void in my life and were the babies I never had.

Re: Jack has a lump

Thanks everyone. Jack has had luck on his side.. We own a country home in western Illinois by the Mississippi River. It's very rural.. Millions of acres of farm land. Jack was born in our neighbors barn in May of 2008. All summer we watched him follow his mom around as she taught him the ropes. He was her only surviving kitten. One day we didn't see his mom.. only Jack all alone. Our neighbor told us his mother had been shot down by the creek bridge. Jack was about 5 months old. I didn't think twice.. even though I never planned on owning a cat. We brought him back to Chicago with us. Took him to the vet for all his shots and a neuter.. and he has been with us ever since. Hoping his luck holds out an the lump can be removed with no serious consequenses.. We want Jack for many many years to come. The sun spot on our bed just wouldn't be the same without Jack in it.
