Re: Bugger!
Thank gawd for Google backup!
My new Huawei phone arrived today, already had a 61% charge (good sign), entered my Google account then used the restore from my old phone to automatically fill it up with all my apps and contacts while it charged to 100%. Then updated the Android software (just a few security patches)
The phone complained that the SD card was a slow one which it claimed might affect the performance of the phone. I have some spare Micro SDs Series 10 cards in my car so I might swap that out. Everything else went brilliantly.
For a phone that is a third the cost of a Samsung I am pretty pleased with it and the 63Gb of memory as opposed to the 32Gb of the old phone (RAM is the same). I use the fingerprint recognition to sign in and it is much better than the Samsung, the latter usually took a couple of goes to recognise my finger print whereas this one gets it first time every time. I tested it with other fingers and someone else's just to make sure it just wasn't letting anyone with a pulse open it.
Xi Jinping phoned me this afternoon to say how pleased he was with the data he was getting and was finding my seniors club membership, correspondence and data files really useful.
