Two men in their nineties came face to face today 70 years after they were together in Auschwitz one a guard one a prisoner.

A difficult one. I suppose it all depends upon whether he did what he did willingly. If he did it because he was ordered to do it, it may be different. Had he refused to obey orders he might well have been shot.

What would you do?

I expect the trial will decide whether there are mitigating circumstances.

He was an SS guard,
The SS was quite hard to join you had to be Aryan have a pure racial background and a be dedicated Nazi.
You have to be less than human to support what went on in these death camps.
He was in the death camps because he was SS and a dedicated Nazi .
They knew the sort to put as guards in these camps.

If you do the crime, you pay for it in the same manner, period. Young adult or old.
