Re: Just who are we...?

The political partys select the candidates to stand for election, NOT THE VOTERS. these candidates are already groomed to serve the party, NOT THE PEOPLE. We have a general election in two weeks time, the leader of the biggest party in the Country and the leader of our Nation is kicked out, but not before he ruined the Country. He now leaves with a life pension of 165,000 euro a year and he's only 51!, and he never even said he was sorry for the mess he made!, nice work if you can get it eh. I will not be voting for the first time in my adult life. Until the time comes when the people can select their own candidates and put them forward for election there will never be voters choice.

Re: Just who are we...?

Losos matey, all very well until the Cadbury company sold out and the successor company moved the production abroad because the labour costs were cheaper elsewhere.

Joe, who is to blame for companies searching for cheaper labour?

The unions and the people themselves who want higher and higher wages and more and more tea breaks for doing less and less work.

The sooner people are paid for the amount of work they do and not for the amount of time they waste talking, having cups of tea smoking etc the sooner companies in this country will stop looking for cheaper labour abroad.

Wrong Antibrown matey!!! - in a Capitalistic society - capital will ALWAYS try and exploit its labour and search for the cheapest labour it can get. The solution is NOT to have a Capitalistic Society but a Socialistic society - The Revolution starts here and now!!! - pass me my T72 Tank and a Kalashnikov AK47 rifle!!!

No matter the outcome there, at least they have the balls to stand up for what they believe in.

I think complacency might be what has happened recently to westernised countries, particularly as people/countries have had relative prosperity and good times. It is easy to sit back, to become greedy for more and more and allow others to make promises and lead us by the nose. Difficult times such as recessions and in the case of Egypt a struggle for some sort of democracy mean that when things become intolerable and unjust people will eventually stand up and fight for what they believe.
I think that what is going on in the middle-east and Egypt is very important and a worry worldwide, but I am not sure they will get a democracy as we know it after Mubarrack has gone. I hope it stays relatively peaceful and that anarchy will not take over, but I rather suspect that another regime will take his place - It might be the beginnings of a democracy, but true democracy may be a long time coming to Egypt and the middle-east.
