Re: At This Age, What Questions Do You Dread Being Asked?

Why are we all so embarrassed about getting old and sometimes looking like we need help?
If somebody offered help, that I didn't need, I would say " I can manage, but thanks for asking"
One day we may actually need the help, so I wonder how many would complain if it wasn't offered then. Don't we all want young people to be respectful to the elderly? I know I would appreciate help if I was struggling to do something and somebody offered help

We most certainly do!
I can remember not too many years back a lovely young man offering to carry my shopping bags for me .. sadly, thinking of his age (not mine) I declined ... but it did cross my mind to take him home with me and keep him in the shed so Mr M didn't find him.

There you are Morty, there could be more to their generosity than originally implied.

Mr M burst my bubble over that.

There are no secrets between us .. so I batted my eyelashes coquettishly and told him about the lovely young chap who liked me...
And he said ..
Huh, was probably just planning to steal your purse.

And if he'd agreed to come home with you and live secretly in the shed you'd've given him your purse gladly
