People are far to huggy IMO I've said it to men and women. Both sexes put hands on arms, shoulders or lean in for a hug. I used to squeal when that happened backing off quickly but a simple please don't do that has a better result.

OMAH = One Man Against Hugs .....

When I lived in Virtual Reality (many years ago) I felt overwhelmed by all the synthetic "hugs" and so adopted my acronym .....

Now the Real World is full of false "hugs" so I have to duck and dive .....

It's funny isn't it I even find virtual hugs a bit uncomfortable.

Re: Are Accusations going too far now?

No matter what the situation, women can always say " please don't do that again".

If it happens in a work situation, and being touched by customers is not written in you job description, your employer has no right to expect you to allow it.

I have been in many situations where a man has touched me and , if I objected I would tell him so. I certainly wouldn't report him to somebody else, unless he tried to force me.
Surely if the woman does not verbally object, it indicates that she is happy to accept the touching?

All, l get in my mind when someone lunges towards me to give me a hug and kiss is... Colds, flu, sickness bug, cold sores, wet lips.

I’m not sure, if all these modern day hugs, mwah, mwah, ‘Lovely to see you’ are really healthy!!

Re: Are Accusations going too far now?

I don’t do the hugs thing myself, neither give or want to receive but if someone simply touched me on the arm or shoulder I certainly wouldn’t respond with “please don’t touch me “ ..
It sounds like an accusation!

Well obviously you don't say it quite like that, honestly this forum takes things far to literally. I've never offended anyone usually it ends in a laugh at me and my issues.

What causes cold sores?

https://www.webmd.boots.com/oral-hea...d-sores-basics

Cold sores are usually caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV), which is transmitted by such forms of contact as kissing an infected person. Both types of HSV – type 1 and type 2 – can cause cold sores. A person with a cold sore who performs oral sex on another person can give that person genital herpes, and similarly genital herpes lesions can be spread to the lips causing cold sores.

Sores may develop as late as 20 days after exposure to the virus. Once the virus enters your body, it may emerge years later at or near the original site of entry.
Cold sores are scary .....

Thankfully, I don't get too many and Aciclovir usually clears them up .....

Thats ok then ,if people laugh at you for your stand on that matter ?
Sadly that means they’re not taking your point seriously surely?
