Re: Winter Wonderland

17 years of living abroad and I can honestly say I haven't missed iced up windscreens at all. It gets very cold here in the winter months, especially at night and we do get a bit of ice every now and then, but never iced up windscreens, thank goodness. In my opinion the best place for ice and snow is on Christmas cards.

Re: Winter Wonderland

We don't normally have them here, unless you are quite well off, then we don't very often get really hot summers so it's not worth buying one. Then of course we like to moan when it does get hot (or cold or wet or dry or windy or cloudy etc......)

Re: Winter Wonderland

There is nothing like that first fall of snow - you know before you even open the curtains don't you as there is that quietness, a hush in existence outside. My dogs love the snow (we don't get it very often ) but when we do, I love watching them play - once the suspicious attitudes have disappeared. Naturally, I pelt them with snowballs - just to help them get used to it

I'm looking forward to, hopefully, a winter wonderland photo competition or any others that appear on here

I would have thought that a reverse cycle aircon was ideal for winter. Cheaper than central heating I would have thought.

Re: Winter Wonderland

Anything electrical is expensive to use. On Tv they showed the amount of electricity each household appliance uses, the highest was a bedroom convector heater, then a tumble dryer.
I'm suggesting we all huddle together for warmth this year! (with myself and several bearded gentlemen in the centre)
