I haven't heard that mentioned in years. Are there still problems with it or has it been scientifically proved not to exist ?

My thoughts are with the families of those on board this 'plane. The 'not knowing' must be dreadful.

I think the "catastrophic decompression" theory I heard last night is quite likely. So it could be somewhere in the middle of the Indian Ocean...Where to search must be a difficult decision.

Re: Malaysian Airline Mystery

Its seems strange that they keep going on tv with all these strange facts. That the plane had turned around, that one of the lads on the plane was not a terrorist and was seeking asylum and showing his picture to everyone. That the crew was not to blame and the pilot had not committed suicide ??

These facts don't help the relatives of the people on the plane.

Re: Malaysian Airline Mystery

I didn't hear anything about this until I watched newsnight last night, very strange indeed, even Jeremy Paxman, who is super confident and always has an answer for everything said it was weird. The chap he was interviewing said it will take longer to get the answers to what happened, we just expect answers so quickly nowadays and take our machines and instruments for granted, he also said the more you know about flying the scarier it is, I'd say thats true, when you start to think about all the little things that can go wrong, say a screw coming loose, that can lead to bigger things you end up terrified, remember that old story "For the want of a nail" I have never flown and never will, I'd sooner fall out of a boat than a plane, it just aint natural, let those who keep saying it's the safest way to travel keep traveling that way and good luck to them, I'm just not as confident as they are, any time I cross the Irish sea it's in a boat and on a train, so in the meantime I'll keep me feet on the ground.
The grief of the relatives must be unbearable, God help them. My son and his family fly to Rome and back again 3 or 4 times a year, I worry about them when they are up in the air and can't wait for the safe arrival call from them.

Like Janela I am amazed that there isn't a record of the missing plane somewhere on someones spy satellite, there are enough of them up there .

I saw a little snip on the news about something floating in the sea!
It was from a satellite picture.

Apparently China has spotted 3 large pieces of debris in the sea. Just a matter of getting to them now .....

Re: Malaysian Airline Mystery

Given that it took (I think) over two years to track down the Air France flight that disappeared, I am not very optimistic about any news soon.
