Re: Why did ......?

[QUOTE=Jem;610143]That question used to have me puzzled Patsy, so I looked it up, it was a crafty move by the commanding officer, they had to wear the helmits in case they got a head cold and wanted to report sick.
If no air gets to the glue it will not gel or harden.

There was a very funny radio play back in the 1960’s
Still don't get it

Re: Why did ......?

Apparently, quite a number of Kamikaze pilots did survive the war, mainly because of engine failure, or else still being under training when the war ended.

Why do women "fall" pregnant? And why are people"under" the doctor and not under the dentist or optician?

It could be a throwback from the old days Eccles, when a patient went UNDER the knife in early surgery , you were completely at their mercy lying on that table with dozens of medical students gazing down on you. I suppose it gave them a feeling of power and they hung on to it.
Why do they call surgeons Mister?

In the old days surgeons were not Doctors but they were usually the local butchers so they could not be called Doctors but Misters.
