They're an absolute delight to watch, after all these years together they are still very close, she has a good sense of humour and they still share many interests
Being a canal enthusiast, I love the programme. I also really enjoy the way that, despite Pru's health problems, the love between them shines through so wonderfully.
I'm due to start (volunteer) work as a lock-keeper for the Canal and River Trust next month, so the London trip featured last Sunday was of particular interest to me.
Still loving this programme but have a question for anyone who knows canals, is it common to crash so much ? we wince every time it happens but apart from a bugger no one on board seems to be bothered
I don't know Julie but I'd guess it is quite common especially through narrow locks.
I noticed Tim lost his patience with Pru several times which made me wince, I know it must be difficult for him but shouting at her was hard to watch

In my experience it's quite common with those people who aren't used to steering a 70foot long boat. Despite the huge size of the boat, steering has to be very subtle. The kinds of bumps they frequently had on this programme were usually caused by approaching the lock too fast or making the turn too late.
The shouting is simply par for the course. Normal conversation won't work when you are 70feet apart with a noisy diesel engine in between.
