When I lived 'at home' - Dragon used to make 3 - 4 dozen of them just prior to Xmas, but she always had to make a second batch as my sisters, George and I would hover around the oven whilst they're cooking and pounce as soon as Dragon removed the tray from the oven.
Yes ... they never last long do they. A lot of bother and they're only going to get eaten !

Weren't painful to me (unless I burnt me mouth - which I sometimes did), snaffling sausage rolls straight off the baking tray as they came out of the oven.
I haven't had any this year yet, my hubby doesn't like them so i have to have a whole box to myself Yummy! He'll be buying them at Lidl no doubt with the other xmas goodies..
My Mother alway's use to say you should make a wish on eating your first mince pie...
