The local market took a dip recently and looked as though it might fold - but a few new traders have come and hopefully it will continue.
Glad to hear that the market may have been saved there Indigo

The absolute best of them were the London markets
I bought the best dress 'ever' down the market - it was stunning, well made, great material - those were the days

Re: Markets

Love a street market!
First thing we do on holiday is look to see if there's a market day.
Well alright not the first thing, putting the kettle on is the first thing upon arrival

Re: Markets

Sorry Aysa, I hate anything to do with shopping and I'm afraid that includes markets!

I have been to Swaffham though, when I was married we used to go on boating holidays on the Norfolk Broads. I also liked Stalham and my favourite Belaugh!

Re: Markets

I'm with you Aysa.
I love the unique finds of markets as well the cheaper prices of course!!
I live in a town with a huge street market which is on every Wednesday and Saturday.
It keeps the town thriving and it is evolving in to a place with a very sociable street (regardless of the weather) café culture too which is a really nice thing to see and be a part of. There is also an animal market every Tuesday and a farmers' market every other Sunday and a carboot sale on the alternate Sunday's...!!!
Not an place to get easily bored in!

What memories you've brought back - spend the morning there, have a hot waffle and coffee after then get the bus home - bliss
