Late for their flight?
Whatever the reasons it ended in tragedy.

Re: British band Viola Beach killed in Stockholm car crash.

I don't understand why this accident is getting such massive coverage - BBC News spent the first 10 minutes on the incident .....

I can understand local interest, i.e. Warrington, Northwest, etc., and specialist interest, e.g. music, youth, etc., but to headline the deaths of some young people that most of Britain have never heard of on National/International News seems out of proportion .....

Is it a slow news day or does 'something else' need burying .....

The news isn't just for the older viewer, younger viewers may see news about the cost of bread or milk as boring.

This band were tipped for the top and had a good following.

Indie bands don't get the same coverage as mainstream pop.

AFAIK, younger viewers don't watch the BBC News Channel .....

They're too busy interacting on social networks .....

I imagine because it's such an unusually tragic story.
Unusual in that the entire group have been eliminated in one ridiculously and totally avoidable accident.
And almost inexplicable too, since there was a clear barrier AND flashing lights AND a queue of cars waiting!
If it was due to brake failure then surely they would have ploughed into the car in front...
