The children concerned were neglected children abused themselves .
However their crime was horrendous it really doesn't bare thinking about what they did to their victim who was also a lonely vulnerable ( but harmless person )
IMO it would be very difficult to rehabilitate these girls they have no I ate sense of wrong doing .
They are murderers
The rest of society needs to be protected from them .

These child criminals are often a result of poor parenting but, by the time they have committed murder, it is a bit too late to change how they think. Pumice is right, it isn't the children's fault, but if they get off lightly then the chances are they will learn nothing. There are many child offenders institutions using new techniques to teach these kids right from wrong, but even that doesn't work with many. Perhaps we should all be put through a test to see if we are able to be good parents. If teenagers were put through a 6 months course of looking after a pretend baby and were marked on their success we would, at least, have some idea of who to keep a check on. I think a course like that may make quite a few change their mind about having babies young and, those that do, should have regular checks on how the child is progressing. If you can't give a child your time and love, perhaps you shouldn't bother having one!

The most likely scenarios of the parents of these children is that they - they children were not planned at all .
They were just the result of random sex .
Children of drunks ,drug addicts and dysfunctional families rarely do well but on the other hand they don't all turn into murderers.
These children have gone bad and to be quite honest if they were not of our own species they would be destroyed as are dogs that have behaved aggressively .
Obviously we can't being a humane society do this but sometimes you wonder would it be for the best ?

After the brief hearing the judge ordered that nothing should be published that might lead to the identities of the two accused being revealed.
