Hi

We had a referendum, the fact that some did not vote is irrelevant, that was their choice.

The result of the Referendum was to leave, so be it.

Free speech did not die at all, you can say what you want about it.

That is completely different to trying to overturn a democratic decision.

I am extremely critical about some aspects of Theresa May's Brexit plans, in particular, Euratom.

However I do not seek to overturn a democratic decision.

The trouble is that the many remainiacs, if they had their way, could persuade TM to make concessions to the EU that would certainly not benefit us.

They would, on the other hand, benefit the EU, but the remainiacs seem to care more about the EU than their own country.

Coming out of the EU means we have to re-instate previous laws and legislation and/or create new legislation.
The suggestion that has been made, which I consider very sensible, is to retain all existing laws and simply transfer them to our own books.

We can then accept them, reject them or adapt them at our leisure. The EU dictators can do nothing to stop us.

SORRY. I SEE THAT SF JUST SAID THE SAME THING!

Absolutely bloody shameful really, they actually do both the country and themselves a great disservice...

It's always a problem to generalise, you have to admit there is plenty of nastiness on both sides. The battle is over though, and pragmatism is what's needed now to make the best of it, however we voted.

I must say though that I agree with Julie that if the vote had gone the other way it would probably all have been forgotten by now, which in itself speaks volumes about attitudes..

Well said indeed Bruce. I too am heartily sick to death of these whinging, pathetic, self-serving remainers, forever carping on about how they are going to bring about the demise of Brexit. I just wish they would shut their gobs and get on with what they were elected to do, take care of their constiuencies, instead of trying to steal the centre stage with their bluddy stupid antics.

The remainiacs have no respect for a democratic decision. They are the ones who come across as narrow minded bigots.

Had the referendum gone the other way, I'd have accepted the decision. Even though I'd have regarded it as idiotic, I wouldn't have harped on and on about it.

I can assure you that I am not affected by any editorials. Unlike some, I have the capacity to make up my own mind.

I thought that was why you were leaving the EU because you didn't like the Laws that were imposed on you. Now you are saying that you want to make them British Laws lock stock and barrel.

As you claim to be a conservative I cannot understand your attitude; surely conservatives champion individual rights and deplore government interference in the day to day lives of citizens? the removal of foreign laws interfering in the British way of life should surely have you dancing in the streets? not whinging about threats to some non existent democracy.

You are starting to sound like a socialist.
