So up to your usual denial antics I see Julie.

Bottom line then

Yes or No

Did "Jezbollah" Corbyn say the he would:

"bring in a cap on credit cards so no one pays back more than they borrow"

Yes or No, are you able to be objective here?

No idea I didn't actually hear him talking, if I had I'd be quite happy to say yes or no. I rely on you obviously to bring his every word to me as you do it so well

Just incredible. Your positions on politics are so untenable as to be an utter joke.

Did you read the link from the Express that I provided?

If not why are you commenting in this thread?

Read it please, then tell us whether what Corbyn said was correct or not.

Re: More Corbyn Pie In The Sky Dreamsville

I think you’re being really silly realist.

Corbyn didn’t express himself very well it’s true but it’s ridiculous to keep trying to make out that he was deliberately lying or hadn’t understood McDonnells previously announced policy.

I’m no particular fan of Corbyn but it annoys me that some people pounce on him at every opportunity and try to dig dirt or impugn him in any way they can.

I think any reasonable person should be giving Corbyn and his party credit for wanting to introduce a credit card interest cap which seems long overdue. There have been no signs of the Conservatives showing any interest in doing anything similar.

It's not ridiculous in the least. Corbyn has form here and lots of it. This IS his "technique", spinning things in a way that dupes the naive and less savvy members of the electorate.

We've seen how the Labour party completely and utterly duped and willfully mislead the students. What he did was dispicable. Weasley words, layered in ambiguity enough to convince the less awake out there.

We've seen how Corbyn tried to use a primary school in Telford to make false political points about Tory cuts. Old Compo was slammed down by the head teacher telling him that the Tories had actually increased their funding.

We saw how Corbyn sat on the floor on a Virgin train because he wanted 2 seats. There WERE seats available but not what he wanted so he sat on the floor and made a news point about the state of trains.

This is the measure of the man. This is how he operates.

As I said in my OP. As a wannabe Prime Minister he shpuld be completely clear on his party's policies. What he stated was simply stupid and shambolic. I mean it's not just him, but anyone who chooses to stand up and suggest that using a credit card should be free, interest free, is frankly an idiot. So it's bad enough that he can't understand his own party's policies, bad enough that he can't get his words together and present the right material. There are no excuses really.

He's at best a total dullard, and at worst a conniving duper of the electorate.

Do you think that a credit card interest cap would work?

Why do banks offer credit cards, through the warmth of their hearts? Or perhaps they, like all businesses, do it in order to make a profit.

If I could get an interest free credit card and spend thousands on it, I could then sit back and relax in the sure knowledge that no-one would come back to me for repayment of my debt.

Of course, being an honest person, I'd give serious consideration to paying back what I owe when, and if, I eventually came into some more money.

Eventually, having not become rich overnight, I might forget about the debt completely in the sure knowledge that I should never have to pay it back.

Meanwhile, the credit card company would find themselves without sufficient money to consider trading.

No more credit cards!

I’m not sure you understand the concept of capping.

There’s no reason at all why credit card interest shouldn’t be capped in the same way that payday loan interest was capped.

All it needs is a capping level which allows the credit card companies to make reasonable but not excessive interest charges. At the moment the average credit card APR is somewhere around 15%. Too high.
