I am wondering where January has gone. I suppose it won't be long before the shops start putting out the stuff for flipping Christmas!

Oh don't, Halloween is an American invention we could do without, or at least the trick or treat aspect of it is. My sisters and I used to enjoy dressing up as witches etc, but if we had gone begging for sweets from the neighbours our parents would have thrashed the lives out of us. You find so many of the sweets people have given the kids discarded on the pavements around here, the morning after Halloween.
