Yes, l regularly compliment people and l genuinely mean it. I could not be false and give a compliment when really, l thought the opposite.I think, it’s good to give others compliments, it boosts them.
For myself, l am not good at receiving compliments and have to make a joke to hide my embarrassment.

Yes, I can send out a compliment without searching for a reason. There is always something special to say about another, especially when they need it.I do have a hard time accepting a compliment, and have to fight myself not to deny the compliment.

I would always compliment somebody if I felt it appropriate.It's not just about looking/smelling nice though is it, it can be about good workmanship, a kindness shown, or a good deed you witness, a bit of thoughtfullness - all sorts of things.
It's funny how we can sort of 'harden' ourselves to criticism, yet a kind word or complement given unexpectedly can throw us.
I rarely get compliments myself - my dogs can't talk, and there's nobody else here!

Of course I compliment people - it makes them feel good and it makes me feel good too. I told a stranger in town once what a lovely colour her silver hair was, it shone like a beacon and was beautifully cut and shiny and I was so envious! She was a bit bemused but must have felt good. I also stopped an elderly gent in town once and told him he smelled wonderful! I've got no shame, me.
