If you are gluten free you can buy a bag of madeleines which are individually wrapped. Your box of flapjacks is packed in a plastic tray with individually encased portions. The pizza has a board under it and then shrink wrap and then it's in another box. The packaging industry must be extremely lucrative.

Things encased in tight, hard and sharp plastic annoy me no end. I've got to use scissors to get the package open and often it's not an easy process.

I think people are becoming more aware of the environment and waste, I'm starting to make choices on products with that in mind. Companies will have to conform in order to survive....I agree packaging like Fort Knox is so annoying.
