Aren't many of the garden centres doing deliveries now? All might not be lost after all..

I've just come in from the garden having planted out my onions that I sowed in January. They have been in the greenhouse for a week or two but really they need some warmth now along with the vegetable raised beds. They have promised us some warm weather for this weekend so let's hope it stays awhile.

Yes, our local & very expensive garden centre, but they are inundated with orders at present. Some people have said quality not good either. I like to chose plants live.

Round here they're not. One owner was on the local TV news t'other evening saying they'd tried to go online and do deliveries but it got in such a mess they gave up! Now, they're even binning their stock.

I could go & dig up the dandelions & daisy's in the grass & plant those in the planters/window boxes.

Hopefully Mups. Of course, I managed to get written consent from the boss first. I have made that mistake before.

Percy, I read today that over 2,000 garden centres are closing.
It must be the worst time of year for them to have these problems what with all the spring and summer bedding just coming ready.
They reckon billions of plants, shrubs and young trees will have to be scrapped. Such a damn shame isn't it.

My local garden centre delivered my 10 bags of compost last Monday, but only because I had pre-booked and paid for it before they were made to close.
As far as I know, they are not taking any more orders now.

I was surprised that 70 plug plants arrived which I had booked online before Christmas too.

Re: April jobs in the garden

Hi

I am going totally veg this year, no bedding at all.

I am collecting a load from a friend on Monday who normally sells them at Markets, which are now closed.

I have a timed slot, put the money in the box at the gate and then collect from the other gate.

No Social Contact at all.

She has heated greenhouses, so earlier than mine.
