Handforth is in the next parish to where I live and I promise you, this isn't the first contentious meeting they've had. Cheshire East Council is famous for them. And several other negative meetings and decisions that have been picked up by national media.

Actually, I'm not sure exactly how my council behaves, other than pretty much ignoring what local people want! They're Liberals, you know.

That video hasn't reached our shores, as far as I know, but we have our share of town meeting excitement, as well.
