What l don’t understand is.. why do you only think speedily whilst on your feet?
Do you not get the same thoughts whilst in a sitting, or a lying position?

I think it implies moving art, running to or from a situation, you have to think fast to resolve the problem...

Horses think on their feet, they evolved to run away when danger threatened. I've been on a few that did that too.
