Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

What in the world are you going to do with the phones Jac? Seen them selling old phones at Antiques Fairs, so don't put them in the bin!

Alvin mowed the ground across the road earlier on and there were four red kites following the mower. Looking out of Rob's window they were below me and their colours are just amazing.

Just come home from the cinema (My Cousin Rachel). Read the book years ago, but really enjoyed the film. Did she or didn't she?

Good morning everybody some blue skies here at the moment. Sue I went to see that film a few weeks ago with a friend and was left wondering as well about the ending.

I've been laid up with a stomach bug since Monday night.Did manage to shower and dress yesterday but not too good today.Feel so weak-didn't know diarrhoea could last this long but they say that it takes longer to recover the older you get.
Loved the original My Cousin Rachel with Richard Burton and Olivia De Havilland(black and white 1952)I've got it on dvd and have watched it umpteen times but still don't know-did she or didn't she.

Rhosyn hope your feeling a bit better. Jac I had old phones and I just binned them, maybe a charity shop will take them. Off to Ibiza tomorrow with my niece and her family for two weeks.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Hope you're feeling better Rhosyn, tummy bugs are nasty.
Had a shower of rain here this morning, but we could do with a lot more. Water butts are nearly empty.

Have been having words with the company from which we bought Rob's (very expensive) bath. The temperature was not getting above 37 degrees - which is warm, not hot! However I have finally convinced them to come and do something about it, so waiting for them to arrive. Of course they will need to test the temperature when the bath is running, so I can see them pouring gallons and gallons of precious water down the drain. We really don't appreciate the stuff coming out of the taps in this country. A water meter concentrates the mind wonderfully......

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Absolutely Rhosyn, how about a nice tonic wine?

Don't know how many of you on here know/knew Roses from SZ. She's on holiday in Italy atm with a friend, Henry. They were involved in a car crash on Monday when someone ran them off the road. Henry got off fairly lightly but Rosie took the full force of the airbag and they both ended up in hospital. However they have been discharged and the owner of the place they are staying at has been a great help, collecting them from hospital and sorting out police and car hire. Hope they will be fit enough to travel home on Saturday.
