An exported problem from the middle east . We don't want it here.
Police protection for Synagogues and Mosques , why not Churches and all religious places of worship in this country ?
New Zealand have got it right when the PM says the country having no divides / all inclusive with regard to gender/race /religion.
Should there be a ban on any negative comments and opinions against Muslims and Christians too or would that add fuel to a smouldering fire ? Pent up silence creates more problems than freedom of speech does IMO but in Parliament last week representative of the Muslim communities are asking for some sort of restrictions against free speech being put in place.
There are problems where ethnicity is involved, some simply xenophobia, some color prejudice, some culture and morality conflicts, and some as a result of involvement in crime, and probably most based on ignorance and bigotry which usually stem from fear of the different.
The tribal and hyper-tribal conflicts from the ME are indeed a potential time bomb, one that has started to fizzle in some cities. The promotion of a multicultural environment is fertile ground for this.
Where police protection of mosques, synagogues, and now even churches and the growing desiccation of graves is also a growing issue but protection for different reasons.
Mosques are being attacked as people are realising just what has been allowed, even encouraged to become established here.
Synagogues by people who follow a religion that demonised Judaism and a few knuckle dragging window lickers who don't really know why they do as they do, and graves by the same shower.
There are increasing demands by Muslims for the return of blasphemy legislation.
It is bad enough that legislation addressing race hate has been extended to the extent that it has but the prospect of blasphemy law is quite simply appalling
