Does that include the leadership of the Labour Party?

It certainly does, my son dated a beautiful girl of Indian origin when at University and she came here to stay. I thought she was lovely
The relationship was all very 'hush hush', my son would not have been an acceptable boyfriend to the girls family because he was white and English. Sadly the relationship had to end, the girl did not dare to continue to defy her family for fear of retribution .
Now that is what I call 'racism' .

Re: Racism

That is dreadful Meg. What a sad outcome for the couple if they split just because of her family's views.

Sadly, not all races allow their people to make a free choice on who they marry or have a relationship with. I am always grateful that I was brought up in a country where adults are allowed to make their own choice of partner.

Do remember a young Black girl singer won a talent comp on TV made a few records and was a small star...sorry cant remember her name.

Anyway she married a White man early in her raise to fame...and then complained about the racism.

So She and her White Husband moved back to her own country...

After they moved to Nigeria the husband was complaining about the racism directed to him because he married a black women(Hastern to add by the blacks)

I had married in 1966 an Irish Girl and with objections from both familes. At the time of the Bermingham PUB bombing had to listern to my drinking mates and neighbours say not very nice things against ALL of Irish and a couple of veiled threats made about my wife but never in a million years would or thought of that being racist.

Re: Racism

Stating your likes and dislikes about a country and its inhabitants can never be misconstrued as racism galty by ordinary sensible people...we leave that to those who, for whatever reason, seem to know no better.

Most normal people would describe 'blanket' hatred/dislike as ignorant.

Re: Racism

Racism is practiced world wide including Africa - how about this in Tunisia.
Indeed quite a few North African countries are openly racist towards black people .
These are the Arab ruled countries like Algeria , Mauritania, Egypt Libya and Morocco .Black people are looked on as an inferior 'slave' race.
