Re: What do you remember???
Don't talk to me about navy knickers- I was stripped of my prefect badge because I refused to run in the into schools races ,I was too embarrassed to explain that my knickers all to have safety pins in them because my Mum could not afford even new elastic let alone new knickers! I was so sad about this and still get angry when I think about it- injustice is what I call it. )Re: What do you remember???
I went to a school which made you do PT in your navy knickers, when I think about it now it was a bloomin liberty but at the time it happended to us all. We had 'gold' T shirts to wear with the navy knickers which were in fact a nasty washed out yellow colour. Looking back at my schooldays they were very unjust particularly around Religeon, PT and the dinner menu.Re: What do you remember???
I remember asking - yes asking if I could black lead the fireplace,I used to take such a pride in it when it beautiful and shiny. Also loved to chop wood into sticks for the fire and tie them into bundles, love the smell of wood. I was 12 at the time. I wish I could bake like my Mum could, she used to bake bread and do mushy peas for the neighbours to buy on Bonfire night, the proceeds went to our streets kids summer day trip to the beach in a charabanc, how we looked forward to that day!Re: What do you remember???
