If those fierce wind we got for the past two days were the tail end of the US hurricane I'd hate to have been in the middle of if. One would think the 3000 mile journey across the Atlantic would have taken all the puff out of it. Strange World.

Jimmy - Hurricanes actually GAIN strength at sea - they pick up the water from the Gulf Stream (a warm water current) -which is why the winds and the rain were more intense than otherwise would be the case.

Lovely sunny day here, very few clouds and a nice freshness in the air...
Yes Mags darlin' - nice and sunny here too - but damned cold!!! - having only just returned from a place where the temperatures were more than 14oC warmer than here, it is taking a few days to re-acclimatise myself back to UK temperatures.
A weather change coming, right now it's nearing 11:30 and 22 C (71 F), but a cold front's approaching with the coolest weather of the season; will be mid-October temps by tonight/tomorrow! Possibly 10 C outside the City overnight.
After getting up to frost, the rest of the day was filled with blue skies and sunshine and pleasantly warm - all change tomorrow apparently, much cooler and wet!!!
