They asked how l was.... ‘l didn’t think, l would be able to drive today as four weeks ago, l had a fall and cut my knee badly’.

‘A fall?’ my best friend in the infants said, ‘That is what old people say’!

‘Oh, no!’ I replied, ‘My daughter said, almost the same thing’!

I thought about it and said, ‘At least, l don’t say, Arthuritis as some older people say and l don’t say, ‘In them days’, instead of, ‘In those days’!

It seems, when we reach a certain age, some people take on a different lingo.
So l ask, can you think of any words or phrases associated with ‘older people’.
I can't say I have noticed that at all.

Wasn't that the irony of what she was saying though? She was pointing out that, if you broke your leg, even your mum wouldn't come looking for you!

We all know she would have, but you may have suffered a few hours of pain when waiting for her to arrive!

When Mrs Mrs LD was a child her mother used to say to her ' You're laughing now but no doubt you'll be crying later'

We both agree that was a horrible thing to say to a child and probably spoilt a part of her childhood somewhat.
