In the states we don't see a difference between a socialist and a leftist or liberal.
It might help me to understand better if you could tell me how you see the difference between a socialist and a liberal and a leftist ?
The colour of their ties is a give away.......they are much of a muchness these days.

Isn’t that a contradiction in terms? Surely true socialism (a la Marx and Engels) brooks no capitalism?

Far too many to name, and if I did name them I would soon be on some 'hitlist' and that ain't a joke.

Mostly these days I avoid watching any news on the TV or listening on radio. The 'talking heads' appear every where with their egotistical, naive, double standards.

Re: Loud mouthed, liberal hypocrites

Could you explain what you mean?

Do you think we have many or any Labour Party members (I’m assuming that’s who you’re talking about) who espouse true socialism? I’m struggling to think of any.

Or do you have a specific example of the hyprocricy you mention?

No, it's what folks in general seem to want, the balance between conscience and Bank Account.

Was a reluckent in reply to you on this as I might be acused of being an arse licker by the school bullies on this site,,,, but here goes.

A Liberal in the UK "Cap l" is on the whole thought of as a middle of the road politican were Labour is thought as to be on the left and the Tories(god bless them) are more to thought of on the. right.

In Your country the extreem left are the Antifa the BAMN and the Black Block who are classed as liberals(small l)...nothing to do with UK Liberals.

Thank you very much, Galty. Some very interesting stuff.
In the U.S., both the antifa and BAMN groups are most often identified under the collective name Anarchists.

We also have groups working under the radar: communist leaning college professors, and public school teachers both of which wield considerable influence on the minds of the young.

And, of course, there are the extreme activists such as Hillary Clinton and Jane Fonda. Within the same group, you will find all 3 major TV networks, much of the Hollywood types, and the major newspapers such as The New York Times, the Washington Post and the San Francisco Chronicle and dozens of others.

Collectively they represent a significant threat to our culture.
I fear that it is already too late. Personally, I feel that America is headed for some extremely turbulent times and that the violence is just beginning. I see frightening parallels between modern day America and Germany of the 1930's.

The irony is that the above mentioned groups have so frightened Mr and Mrs John Q. Average that the "silent majority" elected President Donald Trump. I may not be a fan of Trump but I'd vote for Mickey Mouse before I'd accept Hillary Clinton. Clinton is like a vampire that just refuses to die. Anyone have a sharp wooden stake ?

Hi

Reds under the bed?

Paranoia at it's worst.

I am a Socialist, I believe that society should provide healthcare for all, irrespective of their earning ability.

I believe that those who genuinely cannot work should not suffer, that those who give up work to look after family should not suffer.

I will not apologise for this, to my mind, it is just common humanity.

Communism?

I will fight against that, totally wrong and an abuse of power.
