Let them get on with it. We'll take whatever is thrown at us when we leave, Par for the course. we've faced much worse.
Yes, of course.
I sincerely hope that we do escape, although May and treacherous powers in this country are doing their best to prevent it.
After that happens, I really couldn't care less about Europe.
If the EU project continues to go ahead as expected, each individual European country will have to decide how far things go for them. Good persuasive tactics by the EU and those politicians who are in favour of it will decide.
Perhaps all will be rosy and everyone will be happy. They will end up with the much vaunted United States of Europe. Perhaps many in the richer states will be quite happy to continue to subsidise the people of the poorer states. Perhaps eventually everything will become equal and, in the lack of any perceivable independent states, everyone will become simply 'Europeans'. That would be sad, as one of the attractive things about Europe is the interesting range of different cultures. Of course, there will be savings: no need for separate national parliaments.
On the other hand, I imagine that Greece, Spain and Italy might become rather envious of the much richer Germany and its poodle.
More 'Exits' before it's too late? Or perhaps it is already too late?
One thing that MUST not happen is this country feeling sorry for the oppressed and risking our economy and even lives to offer our support.
