Re: luck

"Luck" can mean different things to different people. I think to have a nice family, a roof over your head, food in the cupboard and peace of mind is being exceptionally lucky in life. However, I do think good health is luck, as no one usually goes out of their way to be ill, but unfortunately it's inflicted on people, whether they choose it or not.

Would you agree that this could be true?
If that were true I'd be a retired, very rich man alice.

I've worked my b..... sorry.....er....socks off for absolute years only to see lazy B'stards get all the luck while I get the equivalent of a slap round the face with a stale kipper for all my hard work. stevmk2

Yes.. Take your chances as and when they present themselves. nothing to be gained by sitting back and doing nothing.

Yes, take your chances, but I still don't think it ends up positive and lucky for everyone. It's a strange one, "luck"

Not quite the same as Luck though is it?

If you take your chances as and when they present themselves surely that's not luck, or it isn't in my book.

That's availing yourself of an opportunity innit? stevmk2

Re: luck

Steve, that's basically what I've been saying that "luck" is - it's making a good choice when an opportunity / situation arises.
