Hi

I am not entirely convinced that the law is at fault here, more incompetent dithering by managers.

It seems that everyone is too scared these days to do the right thing. I don't know what sort of ward he was in but potentially, people could have died because of this lunatic.

If they'd stuck him in a corridor on a trolley, probably someone would have said it's against his "human rights" not to have a bed and food, dongle.

On the local news just now. The bed blocker is now on hunger strike. He is a paralysed (from a stroke apparently) Portuguese man. They reckon it cost over £200,000 for the time he spent bed blocking.

He says he doesn't want to live on benefits and wants to work but I have to ask how can if he is paralysed?

It would be nice if Portugal took him back as I feel we've done more than our fair share. He has a Council flat and presumably gets that and all his bills paid.
