As Mups didn't post a link I looked the story up and apparently the girl was 14 so the man will go on the sex offenders register.

I can't understand why the bloke was not locked up for 'carnal knowledge' or whatever.

And, Mups and Missy are right (shudder).
Her was wrong, dead wrong, for breaching trust regardless of the girl's age

but would there not be a difference between imposing his will on a 9yo and having it off with a (possibly) experienced 17yo who might even have initiated the occurrence ?
We were not in court. We did not hear all the evidence.

Well it beggars belief that he may be able to teach again. It's a sad reflection on our society that a 14 year old girl knew how to perform such a thing too, I was still in short socks and navy blue knickers looking forward to my next netball game.

He should be struck off....is that possible for teachers?

Hi

The suspension was by the Teachers Regulatory body, he has yet to appear before the Courts.

It may well be that he does not appear before the Courts as his Defence Lawyer may insist that the young girl involved, who was aged 14 at the time of the incident, is not mentally capable of giving evidence without suffering serious and permanent psychological damage.

That is just something that Enforcement Officers have to deal with from time to time.

You can rest assured however, that he will be a marked man for the rest of his life.

Yes I agree with Swimmy he will be marked for the rest of his life , he will never be able to work with children or vulnerable adults again , mud sticks .
