Re: Papal Conclave

That's quite true, Uncle Joe. It won't make an iota of difference to any one but the 1.2 billion Catholics around the world.

Re: Papal Conclave

I bet our Government and the Falkland Islanders are overjoyed that the new Pope is an Argentinian, NOT!

Re: Papal Conclave

This man sounds like a good man, a man who has shown his determination to help the very poor and needy. I am hopeful he will be able to sort out the problems the church has and manage to turn around the decline.

I am not a Catholic but I feel they deserve a decent leader and a church hierachy they can be proud of again.

Was quite shocked the BBC didn't provide a translator who knew the Lord's Prayer ! How difficult would that have been to just show a little respect !

Yes well, the fact that the same thought occurred to you too, clearly demonstrates that the Catholic Church is not just a religious order, but has a political stance too.

Re: Papal Conclave

This man has taken the hard line regarding the Falklands, before he became Pope.

We'll see how many colours his coat has now that he is Pope.

Precisely Jeff, hence 'Willow's' contribution and my concurrence.

Respect for what, I don't understand? Jesus didn't translate it into flipping English, even supposing it actually was uttered by him in the first place.
