Re: Sheep killed
Well thanks for the info. I am utterly astounded.
Pay a fee -
to go fishing ?
Unthinkable.
I look out my front door on the Pumicestone Passage across from which is Bribie Island.
Nearby is the Caboolture River.
I've been a keen angler since I was 5yo and can fish almost anywhere, anytime, for as long as I like.
Sure there are a few 'green zones' which are restricted because they are spawning/habitat areas and
sure, there are legal sizes and some bag-limits on certain species - but apart from that, zilch.
God, I could not
survive in "Pommie-prison".
And yes, restocking programs exist to protect fish numbers.
But it is all
voluntary.
I was the foundation secretary of the local Fish Restocking Association and served for several years.
Raised heaps of money for the project - which is on-going.
Breed and release fingerlings.
But charging a bloke money to go and cast a line with his kids for an hour or so - even once or twice a year - you've
gotta be joking.
And call him a
criminal for sharing a healthy outdoor pursuit with his family
!!!!???
Bloody glad I live where I do.
