Re: More government gaffs

Wouldn't they need wireless internet access to use them ? If they had the money to pay for that I have a feeling they might be able to buy their own ! And if they haven't got the money then how will an ipad help them ?

Yes, I agree with you Julie (do you want me to put 1962)? What I meant was, I doubt that an IPad would be any compensation for not having a friend pop in for a cup of tea and natter, that's what would cheer most lonely people up most - another human being caring.

I said else where today don't bother with the 1962, only got it because there was already another Julie on the forum, never seen her around is she still posting ?

I agree BTW and what most lonely people need I think is transport, round here we have a few community centres and coffee places set up for the elderly and lonely but unless you have a car you cannot access them !

O.K. Julie, thanks.
Yes, you're right, transport would be a blessing for them, then they just have to be brave enough to go for the first time and hopefully make some friends.
Can't imagine not having my car, but I suppose one day I won't.

An ipad would suit me down to the ground! Don't do visitors, I could draw & paint with it,(David Hockney uses one) take photos, order groceries, book the doc's, go on here .....
