How sharp those planes are! The Blue Angels are our naval flight demonstration team, based near me. They typically fly six jets during the shows. While they practice (noisly) around us on Tuesdays, they do several shows on the beach in July that bring out the entire community.

The Red Arrows have a formation of nine aircraft, however, following a tragic accident at Bounemouth air-show several years ago they reduced their numbers to seven.

Despite how good they are, they are not a patch on the 'Black Arrows' which used to display with twenty-one aircraft - now THAT was an air-show!!!

They were cleared for nine aircraft back in 2013, after an 18 month suspension. One of the other deaths was the ejector seat that killed the pilot.

We saw them while at a car boot sale, they flew right over the top of us. Everyone stopped to watch them.

Thanks, I wish I had taken it, but my friend has a rather superior camera with a long lens.
