Re: Teachers working long hours
I remember Infant & Junior schools were both fine, and interesting places to go to.
Way back then, they were mainly Ladies & knew how to treat the kids (No sexism intended) - the learning of the tables (up to twelve times) went very well.
The Senior School was very different. I don't remember a single teacher who had a real welcoming, charming personality.
Their qualifications were always to the fore in any notices, Shame there was no mention of qualifications in charm & Rapport.
Were they working long hours? If they were I never saw anywhere where it was visible.
Oddly, when I took myself back into being further educated, at Colleges, those colleges had plenty of chatty, friendly, characters who captured the interest and built on it.
