Well I was working shifts and he was working opposite shifts and we lived 50 miles apart neither liked discos etc so the liklihood we would meet was remote.Friends bet me I wouldn't join a computer dating company called dateline, and his friends bet him the same.
We each got 6 matches to our search and were top of the list for each of us so several long phone calls later we met, 2 weeks later he proposed and 4 weeks after that we were married ! For a joke bet we both got a bit of a bargain and just wished we had done it before but then of course we might not have met each other ....

That is a lovely meeting and what a memory to hold close, Meg.I met my husband at a dance. I was there with a group of friends. It was his sense of humour that attracted me to him.
He came over and said "My mate over there wants to take you out on a date, but I think you deserve better than him, so come out with me instead"
He isn't big on romantic gestures but then he is a northern lad
But every single day he says "I love my little wife". And I love my big soft husband.

On May 17, 1977 he asked me to marry him and put the engagement ring on my finger & I said YES & then ... on April 1st 1978 we became husband & wife & we have been together for 35 years this April so if you were to ask me if we are happy I can tell you in 1 word ....
