Re: Views Please

I agree with most of the comments here. What if it happened again? And as the driver, he should accept responsibility. When my friend was driving me to/from Rustington for convalescence I half joked, don't get any penalties, will you? If he had, I probably would have contributed, because I had asked him for the lift, and the weather was appalling on the way home. I dreaded a shunt!!

However, your hubby and brother have a regular arrangement and what if brother has a habit of exceeding the limit? If the firm pays for the petrol, does he not put penalty tickets through them too? Many employees get their firms to cough up for PCNs.

Yes, I am contradicting myself here, but repeat, I had asked my friend to take me from London/Sussex/London and would have felt guilty. But my mate does drive with care. (He had to: his passenger was in agony!!!!!!).

Wouldn't have thought his company would pay the fine because he wasn't on company business and also why should they pay for his stupidity !

Re: Views Please

Nope. Unless your husband was whipping him to go faster his brother should take a running jump.

Re: Views Please

I feel my brother-in-law does us over financially much too often, he is over-fond of money and hangs on to it for dear life, would "sell his grandmother" springs to mind. I don't think my husband has any moral and certainly no legal right to pay him and yet I think sometimes it is better to be kind than right, I use the word kind cautiously - it was the only word I could think of, I think I probably mean the maintenance of the relationship is bigger than the £30 and it nearly kills me to say it!

I will stay out of it and let my husband decide. He is invariably manipulated by his brother so I think he might end up paying.

Sadly there you have it.

It's time he took a stand or he will be manipulated by him for ever.

You can tell there's no woman in your life Bruce, I'm not allowed to keep beer in the fridge, my wife seems to think it's for food !
