There are many people who have suffered in this way and made a success of their lives, there are others who have not handled the stress and given up. I believe strength of mind will overcome in the end....

I think you have misunderstood my reply Spitty.
The direction of one's life is not wholly dependent on the decisions one makes.
Much of life progresses with random actions that occur every day, or even every minute of every day, it is also the response to these actions that could not possibly be replicated that make your suggestion illogical.

Sorry to be pedantic, but you talk of building blocks, not foundations, a structure, no matter how dense it's bricks are is only as stable as it's foundations, the foundation being the start of the planning process.
