Re: Does the ignore facility cause division?

I found division was being called by one particular poster constantly making jibes at me so I put him on ignore, apparently jibes continued for sometime but for me peace, I don't care what he said because I couldn't see it. Division is caused IMO by the bickering when people don't get on, peace reinstalled when you can't see what they are saying.

Having loads of people on ignore may be a problem, most I have ever had is one or two at a time, I tend to use it for a month then check to see if we can coexist again if it starts up again it's a permanent ignore if not then it worked fine the first time.

Thanks for your reply, Judd. That's how I feel too. I haven't actually used it for a very long time, but the one time I did (for about a week) it solved the problem so seems pretty much the opposite of creating division.

I used it briefly on someone but as they no longer post on here it's no longer needed.

Though I have been tempted a few times...

I think it is a great way to ignore a known troll, gone for good.
So with the ignore button you have in your head you have double the satisfaction.
I don't think it causes anybody any trouble or division on the forum.
